Notice to Mariners – Storm Damage Penzance Harbour

 NOTICE NO. 4 OF 2014

 Storm Damage – Penzance Harbour

11th February 2014

Please be advised that due to damage to the harbour wall, on South Pier at Penzance, there are several large granite blocks from the damaged wall lying on the harbour bed at the base of the Lighthouse Pier berth. These stones are no more than six feet out from the wall and are in the area between the steps which are just outside the dock gates, for approximately 50 metres towards the lighthouse end of the quay. The Harbour authority advises that vessels do not use this area for mooring at the present time. As soon as suitable machinery is available, these stones will be recovered and a new notice issued when the berth is considered safe for use.
