On the Water

Whether you’re arriving by boat, or keen to take a charter boat trip, there is plenty to see in the waters surrounding Newlyn.

Offering habitat to many species of seabird as well as seal colonies along the coastline, keen wildlife watchers will be spoilt for choice and may even catch a glimpse of wild dolphins and basking sharks.

Travel up towards Penzance to see the MV Scillonian ferry set sail on its regular trips to the nearby Isles of Scilly, or cruise across to Mounts Bay to admire St Michaels Mount from the water.

Head south from Newlyn towards Land’s End to spot idyllic coves and inlets, including the charming Lamorna Cove. Soak up the stunning turquoise waters of Porthcurno, and look out for the famous Minack Theatre, which is carved into the side of a granite cliff.

If you’re keen to stay onboard your vessel at Newlyn Harbour, you can find out more on our Visiting Leisure Craft page.
