Becoming a member of the Penzance Town Deal Board

Becoming a member of the Penzance Town Deal Board

In November 2019, The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MCHLG) launched the £3.6bn Towns Fund, for 100 towns across the country with each town bidding for a share of the fund of up to £25 million. Penzance was selected for inclusion and the Penzance Regeneration Group has been working with Cornwall Council on the initial stages of the application process.
This work has now led to the need to create a dedicated Board to oversee the next stage of the work and to develop the Town Investment Plan that will form the basis of the application to Government for funding. The expected membership of the Penzance Town Deal Board will include public, private and community and voluntary sector representatives and is detailed in the Towns Fund Prospectus, which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/towns-fund-prospectus. Cornwall Council is required to support the development of the Town Deal Board, and work with them to draw up a Town Investment Plan.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Penzance Town Deal Board please submit a covering letter (one side of A4 maximum) and a copy of your CV to David Rodda by 1700hrs on the 11th of February 2020.  Documents should be sent to David.Rodda@cornwall.gov.uk . If you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please ring David on 07968 892939.
