Newlyn Pier & Harbour Commissioners Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In the wake of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Newlyn Pier & Harbour Commissioners are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of its customers, tenants and staff.

We are following Public Health England and HM Government advice as well as liaising with industry colleagues to monitor the changing situation, and are supporting the businesses that are based at Newlyn Harbour, where possible.

Newlyn Harbour Fish Market remains open, in spite of the demand for fresh fish having dropped as Cornwall’s pubs and restaurants consider their options in view of HM Government’s recommendation that the general public minimise social contact. Authorised users of Newlyn Harbour Fish Market are asked to abide by the new protocols that we have introduced, including the essential use of hand sanitisers.

We are committed to maintaining our business operations and ensuring that our customers and tenants continue to receive our usual high standards of service, but if we are advised to close Newlyn Harbour, we will inform our customers and tenants as soon as possible.

To mitigate against the potential spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Harbour Office will be closed to visitors from 12 noon today (Wednesday 18th March). Please email or ‘phone us with your questions and requests via info@newlynharbour.com or 01736 362 523.

We will continue to update our website and social media platforms with any changes to our operations whilst this pandemic unfolds and thank you for your co-operation in these challenging times.
